ABK6 FAMILY ESTATE - MERLOT BORDEAUX

Francis Abécassis, visionary and independent producer in the Cognac appellation, owner of 5 brands of Single Estate Cognacs (ABK6, REVISEUR,Leyrat, Grands Domaines, Rêve Bleu), is breathing new life into his emblematic brand ABK6 by launching a new collection of wines from his new vineyard in the heart of France.

The vineyard : 126 hectares in the heart of Bordeaux right bank :
- Oceanic climate, with a clay limestone and gravel soil
- 3000/3500 vines per hectare with yields of 30HL/ha

Quality designation : AOC Bordeaux

Grapes varieties : Merlot

Alcohol volume : 12 %

The grapes are delicately harvested to preserve their integrity and enhance the aromatic expression of Merlot.
Low-temperature alcoholic fermentation is used to preserve aromatic freshness. Short maceration process is employed to obtain a vivid red color. Early racking is done to limit tannin extraction. Blending is carried out exclusively with free-run wines to guarantee aromatic balance and optimal tasting.

Tasting notes : ABK6 Family Estate Merlot Bordeaux reveals a bright ruby color with violet highlights. On the palate, crisp notes of fresh red fruit combine with fine, light tannins and a hint of acidity. The finish is fresh, bringing a lovely tension.
This wine goes equally well with tapas as an aperitif, or a summer lunch of grilled meats and vegetables. Served chilled (12-14°C), it reveals all its fruity brilliance and liveliness.
