ABK6 FAMILY ESTATE - VIN DE FRANCE

Francis Abécassis, visionary and independent producer in the Cognac appellation, owner of 5 brands of Single Estate Cognacs (ABK6, REVISEUR,Leyrat, Grands Domaines, Rêve Bleu), is breathing new life into his emblematic brand ABK6 by launching of a new collection of French white wines from his new vineyard in the heart of France.

The vineyard : 126 hectares in Bordeaux right bank :
- Oceanic climate, with a clay limestone and gravel soil
- 3000/3500 vines per hectare with yields of 40HL/ha

Quality designation : Vin de France

Grapes varieties: : 80% Merlot based « blanc de noir » and Semillon (10%) Colombard, Muscadelle, and Sauvignon Gris (10%)

Alcohol volume : 11,7 %

We use double and single Guyot pruning, after which machine harvesting is delicately carried out to limit colour extraction. The process is protected from oxygen to avoid oxidation of the colour and maintain aromatic clarity. Gentle pressing and sorting of the different qualities with a single selection of free-run juice for the Merlot. Clarification by decantation for the 20% Sémillon, Muscadelle, Colombard and Sauvignon Gris. Vinification at low temperatures (16° to 18°).

Tasting notes : ABK6 Family Estate Vin de France has a pale yellow colour. The nose is lively, revealing exotic notes. On the palate, there's a fine balance between freshness and acidity, for a richly aromatic finish.
