Château Luchey-Halde white 2021
About
It was a historically cool and wet year. The spring began with a cold snap causing a major frost episode on April 7th and 8th. The 2021 campaign was also characterized by sustained rainfall, the spring rains having lasted until early August. The relatively late harvest began on September 7th for the whites and ended on October 11th for the reds. The white wines are powerful, fruity and long in the mouth. For the reds, the weather conditions produced wines with a low alcohol content, an aromatic range of fresh fruits and an optimal phenolic maturity. The harvest is done by hand with two passages per plot, followed by vinification entirely in barrels, 20% of which are new. The wine is then aged for 12 months in barrels on its lees with regular stirring.
