Les Haldes de Luchey red 2019
About
Winter was particularly mild, which led to an early budburst. The early spring was cooler, which slowed down the vine’s cycle. The flowering at the beginning of June took place under cool weather but in a homogeneous way. Summer was exceptionally hot but accompanied by rainy episodes in July, August and early September. These conditions were favorable to a very good maturity and brought freshness and aromatic power to the wines. The wine is ruby with purple reflections. The nose reveals spicy notes and black fruits (blackberries, forest fruits). The palate is bold is frank, balanced, and fruity. Black fruits flavors are accompanied by woody notes. The finish is long with supple and round tannins. Hand-harvested, this wine is vinified in small, temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, undergoes maceration for 4 to 5 weeks, and is aged for 12 months in barrels, with 50% new oak.
